Hey Everyone,

So I put together two different texture packs for those who want more FPS or want the ability to run the game at higher settings while not having to sacrifice large amounts of FPS or deal with our favorite friend, tree lag.

Let me also add that I used to play on below low settings, all options off and sliders all the way down, only leaving textures on medium or high. With the first pack I can run through trees on Ultra with minimal spikes if any.


With both packs users will still have the initial loading once entering game, however looking around for a minute or two the game will get much smoother and choppiness will go away.

You will need to still play with your video settings to get the FPS right. These packs are not meant to be a total fix, but to help you get higher settings without sacrificing a lot performance.

Optimized Pack

The first pack below is just an optimization of the stock files. This pack took all the loose and unoptimized files and cleaned them up, created mipmaps as needed and altered the format of the file so that it loads faster.

*Most should say bye bye to billboards with this pack*

Install

[*]Navigate to you LIF art folder typically located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Life is Feudal Your Own\"

[*]Backup the art folder! You need to be able to revert if you don't like it. Simply Copy and Paste either on your desktop or documents folder.

[*]After the backup is complete, extract the Optimized.rar into your "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Life is Feudal Your Own\" and overwrite changes for all

[*]Once complete load LIF and set your settings to your desired level. I suggest trying High or Ultra for a test. Load into a server and test it out.

Compressed Pack

This 2nd pack is more intensive. It has the same optimizations as above, however now adds compression to the images. What this means is most images will look the same, though you will notice the ground textures are now less pronounced as well as grass/crop images. This is intended for users with lower CPU/RAM and older GPUs

Texture pack is around 18 months old (the post was January of 2016). Major changes to graphics and textures have occurred since then so why would it even be relevant anymore?
