A simple suggestion by your faithful supporter.

This post is mostly aimed at the devs but I won't mind if players take part in the discussion aswell. Here goes.

I think by now we all realize that the game is very unstable and even though it is a jewel od a game - it needs much polishing and that requires time. You know it, we know it. We the players supported you even though for an alpha it is a rather pricey game. We're around and ready to test so take our help for what it's worth.

In my personal opinion - and no, I am no game developer - you need to focus your attention not only to fixing the stability of the server. You should look into setting up a way to report a server being down so it can be looked into in a reasonable amount of time. This way at least until the stability is hot fixed you will retain the players who will otherwise quit due to unreliability and your lack of communication.

Secondly, when the servers will stop crashing we need you to have a serious look into the desync that is happening in combat. I had a man swing his axe at me while basically being on my face as in as close as possible - three times and sadly none of them landed. This game has been advertised as wurm online with actual, fun combat so having that Core feature working as intended is the most important thing we need done. Whats the point in grinding crafting when at the end our weapons change nothing?

Thirdly, there is a whole plethora of bugs that need to be fixxed but are Not gamebreaking at this point. For example sometimes after a server restart dead moose go back into skinnable state. It wouldnt be much if they wouldnt also retain the items they had on them earlier, basically duping the skin items. Only the items from skinning were doubled effectively but it still is a dupe.

Last but not least, never stop working on this game as its a diamond in the rough. Have a good day, and hopefully our servers will get a much needed fix.

I agree with most of what you said. While I know this game is still Alpha, I think the servers could be WAY better. I don't mind bugs, crashes, restarts etc. But the servers stay offline for HOURS after they crash, so it's not even possible to accomplish anything in this game.

Play for one hour -> offline for several hours -> play for one hour -> offline for several hours. That's annoying. I know some servers already have some kind of auto-restart script, so it's not that bad. But the official ones? Nope... why should they? :(

A simple suggestion for you, faithful player.

Mayhaps give a player run server a try. Since players aren't focused on development, I've found that they get restarted as soon as they crash.

I've never had more than a minute or two of downtime since Steam launch during some very large play sessions.
Sometimes reading forums or global chat is like reading a book called "Baby's First Game Test". Does no one understand the concept of early access alpha testing? I swear, 'some people's children...'

I did try to do that but my server can't be seen by others and other then some autohotkey prowess I don't exactly have the skills required in one of the tutorials to run one.

I tried the basic stuff like turning off firewall and the likes but still nothing, and mind you starting my own server was the very first idea I had aswell.

Edit: Also if the devs could make it so that when you are hosting a server and you crash, steam doesn't block you from starting up another client and join your own server - that would be very nice.
