Art... so expensive.

Post by Chiefton » 07 Jan 2015, 17:25

So, very excited that they are taking steps towards adding more appealing interior decoration alternatives for our homes, but I think they did it all wrong.

First off, yes, the paintings are cool and are a great addition to any home, but TWO linen cloth? That is, if my memory is correct, 150 flax. Which in itself requires Procuration, Tailoring, and Farming in high levels. Also requires a loom, and the naptha required in the paintings require herbalism.

I know that art of the luxury presented was for the rich, but maybe add an alternative such as small tapestries or shabby art pieces made from plant fibers, water, and maybe some alternative painting agent?

Also, the idea of trophies is great, but the means of constructing the trophies is as autistic as the means of making big and small paintings. A hunter should be able to take the head, carve some bilets for the head stand, trade for some bone glue to assemble it, maybe some nails, and then sell it for some extra goods. Not have tow orry about all the side skills required for the numerous high-tier ingrgedients involved in all the art.

Difficulty of making jewerly? Acceptable. But the overall rediculisness of making art pieces? Stop.

I am a little unclear as to the benefits or paintings and trophies in game, other than aesthetics. Is there a tangible benefit?

I believe the nice art pieces should still require heavy skills, because, like you said above, art is a luxury reserved mainly for the rich. Still, I see what you mean by having shabby little art pieces with dull colors that can be made from simple materials. That may be a nice thing to add.

However, I would like to point out that taxidermy is not a cheap endeavor. It's much more complicated than gluing a head on a wooden board. Thus, I disagree with your opinion that the trophies should be easier to create.
