Is there a way to change your map in game to custom image?

I second this, it would be great for creating outlines for our group

I think that this is not possible or very very complicated to do.
Because map is generated on your acutal map on the server.

Only thing you can do is "creating" an overlay for mapscreen but this is also very tricks because of zoom in and move....
