Database SQL

Post by Ziong18 » 15 Jan 2015, 07:05

While using the HeidiSQL to mess around with the server tables, does the server need to be shut down to apply any changes you make or can they be applied on the go? For example like resetting alignment or changing objects weight or even unbanning a player, does the server Need to be off, to apply the newly entered data?

yes, you need to restart it to get your changes to function.

That is going to depend on what you are changing.

For player info (stats, skills, alignment), the player only needs to be logged out.

It is my hope that the issue with DB performance is addressed. The overgrown forests. Tunnels and terraforming issues which cause major cracks in the geometry are addressed. It appears the longer and older a server is the poorer the server preforms. Many have resorted to wipes after a few month of operation. I know this is an alpha but if we're going to suggest issues in a list of priorities I hope this is on top of the list.
