Make a cooking pot (primitive if nothing else). Equip your nice cooking pot.
Light a campfire, and right-click the campfire. There will be an option to prepare food items.

MY friend planted a bunch of crops lastnight. This morning everything was gone with the option to plant seeds available. IS there a decay for crops?

I plowed some tiles yesterday (12 hours ago). I logged on just now, but nothing has grown. If I right click on the tiles, it doesn't give me any farming options (which was the same right after I planted the seeds). How long does it take for things to grow? I planted peas, carrots and wheat.

Or the crops could have been stolen by crop thieves! You know... Farmer-Thieves.

Depends on the server's setting for plant growth.
But it seems like something between 6 to 24 hours for the most part.

May be other hidden factors too that we aren't aware of, like soil Q and fertilizer use.

Its a private server. No one would steal them.

Yes. Crops die after a set amount of time. (varies with server crop growth setting)

Instead of making a new theread, il just continue here with my next question.

So i planted the crops, they grew, so far so good.
The issue - harvesting. Takes up to 2minutes for one square to be harvest, in this time the process sometimes randomly stops.

I have noticed that this happens on slopes more often then on flat surfaces. This also happens usually for 1-2 minutes before server crashes as well.

Any ideas or tips?

One more thing, after every server crash the coops "dung-o-meter" resets.

Only once it reached 20% for me =/

there are several bugs with farming. I experienced the canceled harvesting aswell, but thought someone may be on terraforming-observe... that ol' cancel-bug, so he broke my action... never thought it could be a sole farming but *g*.

Anyways, with some experience you get to do that harvesting and planting "faster" and don't have any more loss. Just check the serversettings to know when it's ready. Those plants ALWAYS have two optical stages - first after some hours when they become visible - mostly the look half-done, peas and grapes are only half up their stick, wheat is green etc. Second stage is when they are grown out and you can begin to harvest, then be quick, not sure if there's more than one ingame-day to harvest it all!
