Greetings from your new Lore Master!

Post by Billus » 05 Dec 2013, 15:24

Hello everybody!

I'm the new Lore Master, Billus, and I just wanted to give a hearty hello to everybody here! I'm super excited to be writing for Life is Feudal! A little bit about me: I'm a video game lover with a penchant for literature and a well told story. Some of my favorite games include many of the Final Fantasys, VIII in particular, Okami, Morrowind, and plenty of others. I'm real into fantasy novels, Game of Thrones most recently, and I love Sci-Fi stuff as well like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

I'll be frequenting these forums and asking you guys questions from time to time. My first 3 pieces are up in the Lore section, I'd love to hear what you guys think of them.

I'll start out with a few questions:
Are there any places you guys would like to learn more about? What about characters? What ways would you guys like to be involved with the lore?

Anyways, it's a pleasure meeting all of you and I'm very much looking forward to whiling away the hours with you guys exploring the future of our world!

Peace,
Billus

Greetings friend!

I must say, these stories of yours are really nice to read, I enjoyed every part of it and it really struck my heart when I read about deaths of the emperors. Other than that it was rather positive.

They way you describe surroundings and people, oh Veronica especially, it was a pure pleasure of reading it while my mind slowly created her image for me.

Such emotions during the storm, all of it filled with details and spikes of emotions that just kicked me every few lines.

I must say, I am a writer myself but I propably wouldn't beat what you have written, it's really great job, it really is and I hope other people will also enjoy reading it as I did.

I'd just like to ask you what I told Bobik already, you might add lore dates to "Of Gaius and Grandiosity" and "Of Aleius and Assassinations" so we might know when these events actually happened.

I personally thank you for your work, not only because I am hardcore roleplayer, but also because I enjoy such stories set in medieval age.

Keep up the good job Lore Master ;)

Indeed, very nice stories, and well-formed characters from what I've read so far.

There's a few things here and there that could use correcting to read more fluidly in english, but this might just be your first draft so that's fine (though if you'd like someone to point them out I could probably find the time)

One thing that made me laugh though was this sentence: "He swirled a large glass of wine while staring at the iron chandelier, absentmindedly chomping on an apple and stroking Veronica’s hair."

I couldn't help but imagine Gaius with 3 arms at this point, as there is no other way he could accomplish all of those at the same time, unless he's using one of his feet to swirl the wine/hold the apple, which would be just as funny.

At any rate, it didn't really seem like it was intentional, so I just wanted to point it out.

Looking forward to what's coming, story's interesting so far. Will you be active during release and/or monitoring the player's actions for use in the story?

Yours truly -The Pope

Thank you both for your very nice responses! It's truly a pleasure to meet you both. :)

Arrakis09, I will work on adding some lore dates for you guys. My hope is to make a timeline I can update, and perhaps draw up a map, though my photoshop skills are atrocious. :D Thanks so much for the kind words.

Dailato, thanks for pointing out that I apparently wrote Gaius as some sort of Goro-esque multi-armed monstrosity. I'll just lie and say I wrote it that Veronica was feeding him the apple the whole time (I definitely didn't notice that I gave him three arms). If you notice any more mistakes like that, please don't hesitate to let me know. It's really useful feedback and I want these stories to maintain a high, professional quality for you guys.

To answer your second question, I hope to be active for as long as possible, and continue to turn out as much high quality content for you as I can. If there's anything you guys are interested in hearing about, let me know!

Thanks so much for reading and talking with me! Have a wonderful day, and I look forward to speaking with you soon :)

Thanks,
Billus

Hey Bro,

Since I can't read because of dumbness I still think you're a great add to the team and hopefully you will leave the roleplay lovers in a great ecstasy of wordzzzz...

adding much 'zzz' results in more coolness

I can't find the lore posts by Billus in the lore section. I really want to read them so I can understand more the current state of affairs. Any help in solving this issue will be much appreciated.

Awesome, thank you. The webpage was bugged earlier but appears to be functional now.
