How do manually enter a server while in the game menu? I tried ~ nothing happen? Do I need to open console some how?

Do you mean [Direct Connect] ?
lets you put in the IP:port and connect...

I would assume that's what he is referring to.. but if he's not.. I would like to know how to direct connect.

The same as any game that allows you to do so.
The IP of the server followed by a colon and the port it uses.
Something like..
69.197.2.250:39660
And if the server requires a password, it goes into the 2nd line in the box.
You get all of the info from the server provider.
