Sparring

Post by Fish » 26 Mar 2014, 02:18

If this is in the game or has been already posted then disregard this thread.

It reads on the wiki that assault is negative on alignment. What if you're tired of testing your blade on a scarecrow or animals. You should be able to spar whether for competition or practicing/training. You should be able to test your skills with a friend without having to worry about the alignment penalties. Easiest way to go about this is requesting to spar with another player and if he/she accepts then will be able to attack each other without penalty. Except if you kill whom you are sparring then would face the penalty of murder. (Which would add -10 points to your alignment.)

I'm sure you can find this info somewhere but I don't remember where.

Guild/clan/realm members can beat on each other without an alignment hit for training purposes. No alignment penalty for attacking or killing players of a realm your at war with.

Bobik has also talked about an instanced battleground arena system a player can join for a small wager, like a tournament. It's not set in stone yet and would only be a small part of the entire PvP system which is planned to contain instanced areas of the map. Look through game info and the faq if you haven't read about the PvP warfare.

There should be a duel feature like in MO where you type in "duel" and the name, and he needs to do the same to accept. In MO that didn't come with the punishment of flagging.

I see teamkilling on the horizon
That's a bad idea imho.

FF is perfectly fine and works, if you have people on your guild team killing well....maybe you need to reevaluate your members...or train them better!! :D

Yeah, sure. I'm all for FF. I'm only against no punishment for (unintentional) teamkilling.

LoL no FF, CoD really ***** up peoples perspectives of how a game should be played eh. You want accidents from a clan member to be punished? Are you a goon or something? Friendly Fire is 100% essential to games that require skill. Your just one of those guys that wants to glitch his swing through teammates to hit enemies. People who don't heed FF are just easier to kill.

I take it you are not addressing me because I didn't say a word against FF.

I assume he doesn't want FF turned off, he wants alignment hits for teamkilling. So that killing your mates has consequences... others than only pissed off mates :D

edit: ah too late...

No, not at all... Missing reading comprehension?

I said I'm for FF. I'm opposed to people going totally unpunished if they happen to kill a team mate, speaking of alignment loss.

So, basically what I want is that the game treats you equally no matter who you kill.

Friendly Fire is the cause of Team killing. You clearly state your against Team killing and then talk as if Friendly Fire is not directly connected to it.

One out of four posts mentions alignment hit for Friendly Fire which I addressed in my post.

A recurring problem on these suggestion boards is that people give there opinion without giving a reason or going into detail.

I think I'm beginning to understand why this is, because the people that do it don't have a reason.

Thank you for butchering all possible discussion on any topic /sarcasm.

What? Yes, of course I'm against team killing as any sane human being would... it's just shitty antisocial behaviour.
But I'm all for FF because it's only realistic.
I didn't mention FF at all until someone mistook me for criticizing it... FF was never the topic.

You are literally an idiot, TEAM KILLING IS FRIENDLY FIRE. I wash my hands of this.

Thanks for the unnecessary insult.
Friendly Fire as a server setting is just the possibility to deal damage to team mates. Team Killing is when you go out and actually do it.

In multiplayer games I seldomly hear people complain about FF being active, only about players being either careless or vicious in their behaviour of killing their mates.

When they do there should be alignment loss just as well, imho. If not they might go around purposely killing their fellow players because there is no punishment from gameplay mechanics.

Is this point clear now?

Anyhow back to Sparring... There will be sparring with out penalty to gain skills in combat and practice.

AT least I am pretty sure...I don't know about if you kill someone though and when those penalties or if those penalties happen at all between guild members depending on where you are and what the situation is.

I understand sometimes that people get frustrated when trying to send or receive ideas and information over the internet. Let us try to remember that we are all here for the same reason to discuss and enjoy this awesome game Bobik and crew are giving us.
