question on stat loss due to neg. alignment.

i was wondering how really works the kill penalty for an rpk on this game because there are some apparent contradictions:
devs said its random but at the same time the stat loss become bigger if your alignment is negative.

what that really means? the stat loss is a random value within a certain range?so for example if i kill bunch of guys and my alignment comes to x,and the possible stat loss for x alignment is into a range from 5 to 10 points, i wont lose more than the min. (5) or max. (10) value corrisponding to my alignment or what?

also: whats the reason for a such solution? whats the benefit of it instead to add a precise stat loss system?

Yeah, I think it's random within a certain range. Maybe it is this way so you won't calculate in advance if it's worth it to kill another person so you have to think twice about it.

No hard numbers that I know, but the lower it is the more painful it will become.

There is no random at all. You will get -10 alignment per murder. Amount of your skill loss is also fixed and is calculated by strict formula basing on our alignment. Those ranges on wiki just represent actually RANGES of your alignment and skill loss you might suffer.

Then you might want to edit your website:

When a player dies they receive skill loss which is modified by their alignment, but is still random.

here the lignment statuses and skill loss amounts:

Alignment Status Alignment Name Color Skill loss
Saint 50 - 1000 Blue 1
Good 10 - 50 Green 5 - 1
Neutral 0 - 10 White 6 - 5
Bad -50 - 0 Orange 11 - 6
Evil -1000 - -50 Red 636 - 11


so i guess you should have used the word "gradual" or "progressive" instead of "random" to describe the stat loss system right? just asking for a better understanding, im not intented to bore devs with semantics :D

Yup, word "random" was quite outdated in these articles and I had removed it. "Gradual" sounds fine to me :)

So my only question is, if you are at 0 allignment you could lose between 5-11 on your stats. As it covers two rating levels.
