Patch Notes (ver. 0.11.3.1):

New Features and Tweaks:
  • Reworked three gathering abilities (Search for something Edible, Search for Materials, Search for Herbs). All of these abilities work the same way as the original gathering of alchemy ingredients worked. ‘Targeting’ the tile triggers the visibility of corresponding plants in the area, which you now manually gather
  • Updated the list of weapons that can be maintained by the Equipment Maintain ability
  • Added a movable wooden stair module that can be placed freely in your settlement
Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
  • Fixed (and even improved!) the hit detection algorithm of melee weapons. After dealing with a previous issue, we realized hit detection deteriorated, but - silver lining - after addressing this, we now expect it to be even better than before!
  • One of the most frequent dispatcher server crashes is now fixed
  • Fixed an exploit where players were able to get inside houses while crashing into them on a horse running full speed
  • Standings and alignment calculations should work properly now when vassals of two kingdoms at war are fighting each other (there should be no alignment loss)
  • /stuck and disconnect in an enemy town claim now moves you outside of the town claim (into a realm claim) on the SAME side (not on a random side as it was before)
  • Some internal systems were updated and tweaked for better logging and MMO server operation
  • Fixed, and updated, collisions of many buildings in the game, including windmills, wall sections and gates
  • Some Spanish and Polish languages localization fixes

Hey, I was wondering if you plan on making changes to the amount gathered. At the moment we would have to spend about 40 minutes to actively gather the 180 plant fibers needed for a training dummy. We use up about 200 fibres per player each day. So either we have to asign people to collect them 24/7 to meet our needs or we have to stop production and training. Also sling shot ammo is more valuable than arrows right now. Seems like a very sudden change. Please keep us posted.

Personally I like the change, being a farmer/cook. Why should other professions have to actually play the game to xp and the Nature's Lore guy can grind/spam for ages for xp?
The only bad thing is with plant fiber, 5-10 per plant would be nicer :)

Im just wondering - how the f... am i supposed to gather those freaking herbs ?? Can anybody tell me ?? They appear, i click on them and i just stands there hacking away and a freaking mingame pops up and no matter what i do in that game it says incorrect result and when i close the minigame - i havent got any new herbs ?

The change to plant fiber gathering is horrible. The amount of fiber used for even simple things like making a few crossbows means you need to spend almost a half hour just to get the damn fiber needed for the ropes.

Please either revert the change for plant fiber gathering or increase the yield to 3-5 plant fiber per gather.

Yeah, maybe they intended to let you gather 10 ammo at once which would be worse than before, but still acceptable. But only getting 1 is bull****. I usually collect around 1000 ish ammo for 1 power hour with my sling. Guess that'd take me a while now...

Gathering abilities.

Pros: Training Nature's Lore through this more manual gathering process is much faster, making players interact instead of AFK gather. I can finally gather taproot and berries more often this way because sweet Svefnil the Sleeper it took an hour to get maybe a dozen of each. A couple searches now yields a handful.

Cons: 1 slingshot ammo (already said), and more importantly to me, no longer does Nature's Lore skill level dictate quality of gathered items. Now it's surrounding tile quality where ever it spawns. No reason to level beyond 60.

Worst... Change... Ever.

Everything that uses fibre just took a huge quality hit unless you maintain fields of 100 quality soil now. It was hard enough finding a tile of it.

Not sure what abuse you were trying to solve with this change.

It's not true... the quality is the lowest between TILE and SKILL.

I can understand why the change was made - gathering fiber, slingstones, and other materials was trivial. So, point in fact, I like the change overall, but these materials need to be gathered in greater quantities. 5 for fiber, 5 for sling stones.

Yeah, and since they spawn in a diamond 10x10 area around you, gathering from a 100 soil tile is no longer possible unless you fertilize or prepare the whole area. So my reason still stands.

Also of note, this makes snake bites happen more often which have killed my newbie character pretty fast. Newbs got nothing to withstand poison. :(

collecting plant fibre with nature's lore 100 from a 100 tile results in quality 88 plant fibre. RLY?

Please wipe the servers due to the new rework on gathering so we can have a level playing field again - I can no longer be a tailor with this change.
I would rather have the changes reversed so we don't have to spend 8 hours to get 50 fiber.

Bobik, sorry but this is an idiotic patch. Quit ruining your game, i had such high hopes for LiF, and you are screwing it up bad. Oh and get new bloody server hosts already! For christ sake why did you go with one of the worst rated server hosts in NA... fix your server then fix your game!

Hear the community. This change does not go on the right direction. Great idea but bad implementation. Did you think on a mix system? Not one by another, but one and the other. Grab stuff with random quality from a tile or get better quality from an specific material from marked tiles after searching for it. Use that new material markers as what they are supposed to be, markers.

Most of people here loves a medieval game with pretty realistic mechanics but just a few clueless about how life was on the past really want to suffer that journey.

Tempted to say something about carebears and grinding.... but this is too easy.

I imagine this will get adjusted, but I dont think it will go away.


All of this "I cant be a tailor" BS, is just that, bull sh!t.
You can still be a tailor it is just no longer the easiest tier 3 skill you can grind. You have to put in work now.. I know you cant sit there AFK for hours on end, with a macro program running feeding your toon, while you play on another character or another game.

God forbid you actually have to PLAY the game to do something.

Not only that but slingers point gain went down as well, when I hit something I only get 0.0018 from the 0.01 a shot I do not know if that is also a bug but if not then getting slinger up is even harder even if you had 1000 sling stones, I hope that is a bug and not something that is permanent since I want to be a ranger its going to take a lot longer now.

Horrible patch. You really need to change the requirements for simple tools or dramatically increase their durability. One flint stone, plant fiber, or sling ammo at a time? WTF??
