Concerning Pricing

Post by Crusader316 » 16 May 2014, 00:40

So I noticed earlier on the Q&A that pricing was expected to be around 20-30 euros and on top of that LIF MMO will probably be free of charge for those who bought LIF YO..

I have to say I think you're selling yourself short. 20 euros is about as low as you can get. I understand a full 60 euros may be a bit much for an indy game but I suggest you charge at least 40eu considering the huge amount of content of this game.

I would also advice you to not give the MMO free to those who purchased the YO-version, a discount might be appropriate though.

I write this primarily beacuse I know you are working on a limited budget right now and I really think you are underestimating the value and appeal of your product. :pardon:

We want officially state that above user is not affilated with LiF Development team in any ways :D ... but he is saying right things :D

If seriously, I state everywhere that our pricing and discount policies are not final in any way. Once we will have a good and stable games, then we will take some time and work with a pricing.

P.S. I bet you will be flamed a lot for that post, because generally people do not like to pay more and prefer to pay less ;)

if a higher price can further assist in the development and increasing the quality of the game will be happy to buy even Lif: YO, but we also need to estimate how many people would buy the game with a high price, and how many with a price of about $ 20
Sorry for my bad English

Haha... Might be.

I personally think he is absolutely right.
As a donator and tester myself i never expect to get anything out of it other then the fun (and frustrasjon ) Of testing the game while in development.

I think getting something when the game is released is a nice gesture by the Dev's - but not something we should expect.

I will gladly pay for LiF:YO on the side, and I will definitely get LiF:YO anyway to test it out.

I wouldn't mind paying more but I realize I might not be your main demographic, since I'm 20+ :P
