[Epleland] Still Roleplay alive?

Greetings together,

my name is Zenobio and I am playing since a whole time on Epleland.

Before I came to Life is Feudal MMO (Epleland), I did some other role-playing games intensively. But now I'm wondering if there is any roleplaying on Epleland.

How role-playing should work, I find quite well described in the following guide: http://lifeisfeudal.com/forum/guide-to-roleplaying-in-life-is-feudal-t15400. But nothing that defines role-playing, I can find on Epleland. In general, everything is governed by Discord or Teamspeak. The local chat almost never happens.

For example to trade, you meet somewhere in the middle, swap things and disappear again. Of course everything was clarified via Discord.
To build an union to defend your region, everything will be planed and discussed on Discord.

For me now came the question, what's possible for Roleplay on LiF:MMO? Is it even possible? What must be changed, that it is possible and what just other think about the roleplay and how it works? Maybe I have too high demands?

So it would be nice to get other views and opinions about RPGs on Epleland.

I personally am in server 41 in the North and I strive to only use the local chat to communicate, especially to roleplay. I am also on discord and will use it at times, but we strive to use it in character and in the form of a 'letter' or a 'raven'.

But I agree with you completely, the majority of people I know will utilize teamspeak or discord and it will unfortunately turn into meta gaming and miraculously summoning help or setting up trades...

I personally am very happy with the devs decision to not have a 'global' or 'clan' chat that allows for unrealistic global communication, I enjoy only having local and only being able to hear people close enough to actually hear, but I do agree something else is needed to help encourage more to use ingame features to communicate more realistically.

I think one solution is getting an ingame local audio chat would be helpful, so as not to have to try to type all the time, but keeps it within the current local chat range.

Another would be the ability to post messages and send or receive letters through various means. For example, the paper and books that so many have been advocating. And there is a mod for LiF:YO that had carrier pigeons that could send messages to other players in game. It was not fully refined, and required everyone in that server to have individually downloaded that mod for it to work, and had the ability to be exploited (sending an enemy a message, then following the bird to his location to attack him)

But perhaps the devs could implement a more refined version of that concept.
