My opinion of the combat right now

I'm not sure what the deal is with the weapon hit box but its horrible right now ... hits that are right on my enemies hit box just straight up miss and hits that I think miss actually hit him... I just had a 20 minutes 1 vs 3 that ended with us just giving up because we could literally NOT hit each other and the times we did we dealt 1 damage. now this may just be a problem with the starter axe and shovel etc? I certainly hope so because this is a core system that is just utter trash in my opinion

got to make sure the actual blade part of the weapon hits and on top of that must be damn close to perfect range and not be handle or hilt hits or it wont connect ( theres no sounds for the above) other than that when you play around with it youll be landing hits almost all the time

The axe is easier to hit with but the shovel is damn near impossible even when Im 100% sure I hit the enemy, I just think the hitboxes are slightly off right now which makes thinks awk

For now i don't like the combat too, many things needs to be fixed.
They need to put blood when opponents are reached too, for people know not only by sound when he hits but by visual effects like blood too.

Combat among many things will be polished and improved in time, so do not worry about that, it will all be better.

With combat being in the state it is I find it strange how people have been saying with a straight face the game is playable at high pings if, clearly, combat isn't in a workable state to even know.

Combat on Euro Servers is extremely difficult, due to lag. So, if you're an American, like myself, try to learn combat distances for weaponry on US servers and you'll be just fine.

Combat was a minor annoyance until I figured out the precise distance for a weapon. Oh and crude/Primitive tools are not really meant to be used as weapons. As such, their hit arcs are extremely odd. Primitive Knives are pretty easy to hit land a hit with, if you're just trying to figure the stuff out.

I shunt it down to an alpha build, hell no one knows how combat "will be" in release. Hoping for something like Kingdom Ruse without the magic :O:
