The stability of the servers, work on it!

Post by Mortimer » 20 Sep 2014, 17:22

I mean seriously, it's so filled with crashes right now it's disgusting. Trying to play on either official or public servers, you basically crush So often, the servers go down So often that you can't really do much progress and at some point it's not fun anymore.

Work on that server stability and give us a sign that you actually are cause I'm on the verge of claiming a refund at this point. I do know what an alpha looks like, but This is not in an alpha state from my experience.

Well.. I realize there are some server crashes, but I have done many many different Alpha and Beta tests. This is quite normal to have issues during Alpha stages. esp Servers, crashes, bugs, etc...

I have been able to play for more than hour a few times, but have not seen any completely stable periods for hours yet. I have not had too many issues with game crashes because of bugs yet, but most of the time I do get disconnected or freeze up is because of server disconnects and time outs.

Hopefully as the patches come these things will be addressed and corrected so we can play more often.

Server has been running for 3 hours strait no crashes. Stability seems fine.

I've experienced several server crashes so far. Thankfully the server gets restarted soon afterwards.

Everyone already knows that the servers are unstable. We've all known that since people started testing in the MMO pre-alpha way back when. Logically, YO servers should be no different than the MMO servers, since they run on the exact same technology, minus the active server borders.

The fact is, you are not the only one that dislikes bugs (believe it or not). Bobik and company have been working full-throttle on this game ever since they have been able to secure funding.

We all know that server crashes suck, and are annoying as hell.

You can ask the devs to address certain issues, but don't be an absolute douche about it. Throwing a tantrum and making threats won't suddenly make Bitbox "see the error in their ways" and magically erase all of the bugs with a swish of their wand.

Be realistic.

I have alpha tested many games, hell I've been a professional paid tester at sega for some time aswell. So yes I know what I'm talking about.

Throwing a tantrum? I'm saying fix the stability so we can actually check for bugs for Longer then an hour at a time. That or I will claim a refund because as is the game is in an UNPLAYABLE state with the crashes, freezes, desyncs.

Me and my group had to change the server around 4-5 times now to get anything going, you realize how far we'd be if we wouldn't have to start from scratch every 2-3 hours because of immense server crashes?

They know the issue exists and are likely working on them. Didn't they already announce a patch to work on some of the instability issues?

Source is Steam's Newsfeed for the game.

Besides, your nip-beams of angst are in need of calming. We all knew what we were getting into the moment we accepted the idea of playing an Alpha.

Allow me to quote text from pretty, blue Early Access notification at the store page:

“DO NOT BUY this game unless you want to support the development of something really new and original in the sandbox genre. You will encounter bugs along with various other issues in playtesting. This is Early Access Alpha and your support, understanding and becoming involved with the development process will be something remembered as we move on towards the Beta stage and then on to the final Release version.

So many douches, oh sorry, white knights, around here.

I already Did support the game, I fuckin bought it so stop with your whining. Thanks for the link, luckily I'm working tomorrow so hopefully in the late evening the fix will already be in place and it's gonna do well.

At the same time, instead of trying to throw me into a shallow grave, you guys since you're so well read about this game consider updating the damn wiki so people actually know what they're doing. Or for the hell of it, write a guide cause as it stands you can scrap just so much info together to start smelting iron ore.

+1 :good:

God, at those moments when such kiddies spam a forum with such bullshit, I am happy not to be a dev, so I can express my opinion openly about such douches.

@Devs, Bobik: I know you're having a hard time at the moment, all those children throwing a tantrum about this and that, expecting the alpha to work like a final release. I think I speak for the whole alpha tester community whom grew together over the last weeks and month when I say: Ignore them idiots, cheer up, you guys are awesome and doing a formiddable job! You rock and we have faith, as we always had, that you'll be fixing all issues and bring up an epic game. It's impressive what literally a handful of devs can throw together, so keep it up guys! we stand behind you!

Douche / White Knight?

I return the attitudes shown as a common courtesy. This entire thread's origin was a ranted whine and continues to be with your nagging responses. But! Seeing as the original question/Concern was handled, 'have a good one.'

My troll senses are tingling.

I'd recommend locking this thread upon such a time that Mortimer comes back with another acidic post. I cannot foresee any form of productive discussion taking place here in the future.

Obviously he wants to get some sort of a rise out of everyone here, so continuing to feed him will only worsen the problem.

OP, "disgusting" is a bit harsh for an alpha build. Dude get with the times.
