Hi, not sure if anyone will be able to help, but we bought a dedicated server from Bluefang so we could play with some friends.

Its up and running and visible in the list, however, we cant find how to set the server settings in the admin panel at bluefang (I think they said they will be adding a way to do it soon, as its very new) - does anyone know if there is another way to set these by editing files or such - basically we want to have max skillcap, I am capped after one day

This dedicated server thing is all new to me, so any help would be much appreciated.

Well I dont know how to get into their dashboard, I can save you the time at least of looking and tell you that skillcap atm is bugged. You cant raise it over 600 currently.

Ok I'm not very good with this computer server stuff but I've been renting from bluefang for about 3 months now so i can help out.

First you need to download an FTP client. I use FileZilla.

In FileZilla put the Host Username Password and Port they gave you and hit connect.

So you will connect to your server. On the right side will be remote access to the server and the left is your computer. So on the left side find lifyo.

The file you want to change for your settings is under "config" It is named "world3" --well thats what mine is named.

Use Notepadd++ to edit the file.

To change filezilla default file opener to notepadd++ go to edit--Settings-- File Editing.

Oh also don't be afraid to use the support button. Send in tickets for anything you have a question on These guys at Blue Fang Solutions have some of the best customer support i have seen. On average I must get an response back within 15 minutes and no later than 1 hour.

Thanks for your responses guys. Capsuna, I think my husband tried as you suggested yesterday, and set it to 3000 (he is currently at work so I cant ask him, but I am pretty sure he did that, and we restarted the world to be sure it took effect) - I just wasn't sure if we had done it correctly. I am hoping at the moment it is just the bug, that the guy confirmed in another thread. For now I will just make a new toon as the skill cap is driving me crazy

Yeah it is the skillcap bug.. They released a new patch today i think... maybe it fixed this? Sucks though cause i want my toon to have everything also lol

Sorry for the complete noob question - has the patch been released and yet if so, will my client get it automatically or do I need to go and download it from somewhere?

(edit:disregard, when I tabbed back I had lost connection and when I restarted the client Steam gave me the update )

Hmmm, I was not able to see my server on the server list this morning - maybe it is because the server software is out of date.

Check your server xml file it probably changed along with your server name when it patched, that was the case with me.

You cant, they have to so we need to wait for them to update... just pop them a support ticket asking how long its going to take so they know to push it out asap.

In the same situation myself. Hoping they are going to update soon, if I have to update it manually via ftp its going to take forever. I actually have a support ticket in with them now. Will update when I get a response.

Just talked to a tech and she says they have finished updates already. My server is not listing anymore though, and none of them from chicago are back online yet. So Im guessing something went wrong.

ok i could use some help, i got the filezilla and notepadd++. made the changes for the skill cap to 3000. But for some reason it wont change, not sure what i am doing wrong.
