How to reset world/map on private server?

Post by Loki » 25 Sep 2014, 09:41

I didn't see a better board to post this in, hopefully I didn't miss something obvious.

Anyways, we started as a public server (I got one through BlueFangSolutions) and we've done quite a bit of building and terraforming.

We now want to go to a private server and start fresh with a clean map. How would I go about resetting this? I figure it has something to do with the world_x.xml file, but I'm unsure exactly how.

Thanks for and help, it's greatly appreciated!

dedicated-server-reset-t2627/

Basically it is not about the world_X.xml but about the database (lif_1 I suppose). That would need to be wiped during the server re-install so that the first run will create a new one (logic is if found use, else create). Since this doesn´t appear to work currently with BF, try contacting them directly and ask them to wipe the DB manually.

Could you not delete the lif_1 database, create a new one and run the db setup query?
