Friends can not see my server - SOLVED

Post by Bolverker » 30 Sep 2014, 20:27

Ok. At the begining i had problem. No one can saw my world in public list. So my friends cant join my world. I have tried port forwarding with no result. Reason here is, that u need to have an public IP. So we estabilished connestion via HAMACHI and try using direct connection to the server. And it really works. At least for us. So if u have same problem, just instal hamachi, create network with your friends and let them join your world with command joinToRemoteServer("IP:port","password"). IP is your IP in hamachi. Use this command in page "join a world" in console. (I am really sorry for my poor english, but i did my best).

This is not a good solution, it will be extremely laggy, and drop connections consistently. You should just forward 28000-28002 dude.

We re lags free. And trust me. It is immposible for me to forwards ports. I have tried it by milions ways. Forwarding port by port. Disable firewall in PC, disable firewall in wifi router, even place my PC beyond NAT. Contacting internet provider, if he doesnt block any ports......and my ports re still closed. I think it is couse i have unpublic dynamic IP.

You know, adding the layer of Hamachi is a waste... they should be able to just connect using your public IP via the command you listed... AND you need to look into Hamachi, just because all the other lemmings use it doesn't mean it's safe. The first thing I noticed is it has FULL System level access to your system and registry.

anyhow, all my users do the following, even when my server isn't showing up in the list for them...

1) At main menu, hit ~
2) past in the following joinToRemoteServer("MYpublicIP:MYGamePort","MyPassword")
and hit enter
3) for people on my local network in step 2 they use MYprivateIP instead.

get's them in every time.

now how does this work if you are behind a router? how do I find my public IP for my specific pc. I had also noticed Hamachi's disturbing level of access and difficulty and making it not run any processes unless I want it to.
