Has anyone managed to recycle a tool, weapon or piece of armor? I've done plenty of regularly smelting and blacksmithing, but even on a private server with 100 smelting I have been unable to get any use out of the recycling command. The items do not appear to heat no matter how long I've heated them with billets? not sure if it's bugged or if I am missing a step.

I'm having the same problem. Tools don't heat up, regardless of how long they're in the furnace.

I don't have access to it at the moment, but you have you tried using charcoal as the fuel in place of the billets? Maybe it allows it to get hotter?

I tried to recycle metal shovel with billets and charcoal using forge but it isn't working.

It's a bug or i have to use bloomery or another process?

Do you realize that heating them up is not "Recycling"? Everyone can heat them up, try to actually recycle them into ingots or whatever, it doesn't work.

It does work. I recycled tons of shovels on a official server. when fully heated up you just hit recycle, select the item and you get metal lumps in return

yeah, both Revv and Muliki are using Bloomery in the screenshots.

Yes I don't know if it works in the other stations or not as I haven't even tried, there's been no need to since by the time i am advanced enough to start recycling I already had the bloomery. I'll give it a try and post results

actually the blacksmith shop is more advanced than bloomery but I was told by our smith that tools don't heat up there.
You are standing next to one in the video if I am correct.

Yes and After some testing it seems it is only the bloomery which does it and that seems logical to me since the bloomery can heat up to 2000 I guess.

While you are correct in terms of when you can build it the blacksmith shop is basically just a fancier looking forge and anvil.

So you need to use bloomery and not furnace/forge/shop.
