Cannot restore database....CR_INTERNAL_DB_ERROR

Post by Computer1633 » 23 Sep 2014, 00:11

Has anyone found a solution to this? I had the database crash and after restoring a backup, every player now receives the above error message. I can create a new DB and the server works great, and the server was working great before the DB corruption, it just seems now after restoring the DB that I get this error. Anyone else had this and know how to fix it?

Much appreciated in advance for any helpful responses.

I have no way of knowing if this will work for you but I was trying to transfer my world from a normal local server to a dedicated on another computer in my network. Simply moving over the files did not work for me and resulted in the same error you are getting.

What finally worked for me was that I dropped the database, recreated just the database with the proper encoding and so on, copy and pasted the contents of the new.sql file into the query on Heidisql, used the drop down arrow by the blue play button and changed that option to "set batch in one go" and ran it. I also ran the patch.sql file the same way too(copied contents into the query and ran it). There is a tutorial somewhere about how to make a dedicated server and the guy went through the whole query running process.

This created a new clean database. I tested that and was able to log on and create a new character.

After that I simply moved the backup of my lif_1 into where it belongs. I do not recall if I cleared the current lif_1 folder out or just overwrote the files in it. The same for ibdata1 file too.

Make sure you go to your Windows services and stop the mysql service before deleting/overwriting though. Start the service after everything has been moved over.

Either way, after doing this I was able connect to my original world again.

Maybe I got lucky, my situation was completely unrelated or maybe your world is corrupt but I hope it works for you as well.

Laiden - thanks for the info but unfortunately it did not help in my case. Waiting for developers to get involved. I attach for the devs so they can track the issue more easily:

If you delete the Daemon folder, then verify through steam, it will rebuild it for you, but you lose your old world. It will get you playing again though.
