Suggestion: Using GM Commands disables achievements

Post by LifeisFeudal » 03 Oct 2014, 01:17

I think that if you use GM Commands to alter any stats on a character it should permanently disable achievements for that character.

For example I easily got the "Grandmaster Forester" and "Skillful Craftsman" achievements with a few press of some buttons. This make the achievements worthless.

Many games have cheat modes but also disable achievements when you use those modes

What do you think?

Would rather development time be used on content. Silly achievements!

I'd rather remove achievements entirely. They serve no purpose, and are put into every damn game nowadays, because some idiots thought it would make a good standard thing to do, and over time it really became the standard. Ugh.
They were initially cooked up as a means to swindle content into stale games with little effort, and/or to raise replay value for some sort of "beating the game" feeling.
It has no purpose in like 90% of all games, yet every shitty little app dev in his cellar feels obligated to follow that trend for some odd reason. Just get rid of that fad already, please. (And I'm speaking to the majority of game devs here.)
