The little things I am looking forward to the most

Post by JohnCentury » 13 Oct 2014, 21:28

1) Terra-forming stone/rock

2) Walls on slopes

3) Collapsing mines/terra-forming around mines. Hate that I can't flatten the entrance to my mine and I have to jump to get in.

4) Working carts/Wheelbarrows to speed my epic construction projects along.

What's yours?

EDIT:

I'll add one complaint. The days are too short. From the looks of the foliage we aren't in Alaska during the winter. How about a longer day shorter night?

1. some type of grouping system that let's group identify as a clan, guild possibly kingdom.

2. Horses and other animals that can be managed in the barns

3. Some other type of hostile animal other than the wolf maybe a bear or mountain lion

4. Seasons winters, summers and falls.

Being able to fill in tunnels when they are not needed anymore.

Having access to all of the ingredients in the cooking track.

Grouping and group ownership of houses, gates, and warehouses. Because it is a huge pain right now to constantly stop and go unlock a gate because only one person can own it.

Critical:

1. Combat logging must have a time out. This is the #1 reason for player desertion in many games, most notably DayZ recently.

Further, unconscious should be cannot log out and regain consciousness starts timer.

2. Ninja jumping, must go asap.

3. Options to destroy own objects.

4. Fix alignment; ID friend/Foe.

Luxuries:

1. Inns. Pub.

2. Animals.

3. Pack sorting.

1. A playable fps ( above 60 ) for everyone.

2. Balance to economics, making it so resources don't overflow on the servers as they do now, including:
* Increased amount of cured leather needed to make leather from 1 to 5-10, helping out the economy.
* Reduced amount of apples gotten from apple trees to 5, reduction in max apple quality or rework to the food system.
* A Balance of weapons and armours that's actually meaningful.
* Turning off blacksmiths's shop, carpenter's shop, kitchen's bonus to quality of items crafted, make them craft items in 2x or 3x the usual time instead.
* Making steel a requirement for 60 skill level weapons and armour, Vostaskus steel of skill level 90 weapons and armour.
* Reduce the amount of bones gained by skinning animals to 5-10
* Reduce the amount of feathers gotten from each chicken to 2-3, make it give a player 1 chicken meat instead.
* Improve the amount of poo gained from coops tenfold
* Decrease the time to pave roads twofold, we want to build entire kingdoms and all of that needs roads.
* Make mooses not spawn with wolves, make spawns have a random number of animals in it. For example you could run into 5-6 wolves and run for your life, or a small family of mooses. Or a single moose/ wolf out in the nowhere.
* Increase the amount of naptha needed for lamps, even tenfold, reduce the amount of ropes to 1 each.
* Disable shield bash for weapons other then the damn shield.

3. Introduce the tunnel strengthening system, this way you can secure your base from below aswell by preemptively digging a mine and strenghtening the walls inside making others unable to dig em out.

The game seeing my graphics card did nothing in terms of fps so I assume the fix is only for the system for seeing it, but whether it is in fact using it is another thing altogether. Playing this game with 15-20 fps is not fun, really isn't. People lag due to the lag aswell making it hard to hit them, makes the combat wonky. Combat is a lot more fluid on a fresh server, where players get a better fps.

Those economic "boost" ideas are horrible. The economic grind is bad enough without reducing your reward to the point of no fun. I'm not going to take the time to refute each point.

The only good idea there that would help the economy is the coops producing more dung.

Everything else would turn a relatively decent /fun investment of real time into a horrible grind. The end state of all that gathering and building is supposed to be full scale warfare and kingdom simulation. Keeping that end state behind an artificially long wall would alienate a lot of players who have a myriad of other games calling to them.

I've played this game over 250 hours now. Resources overflowing is not a good thing for any game. And which part of it currently is a grind? Walking over to a tree to get enough food for a couple of days? The only things that are as they Should be currently is the flax line of production. The rest is far too easy to get, making people able to go through the entire cycle of starting anew and having everything happen in a matter of a couple of days.

Do you want this game to be basically a pvp arena? Go play m&b then, that's an arena.

The reason you don't want to go and refute each point is because you have no arguments other then you being a lazy bum to do so.

#1 A solid combat balance/fix
#2 More wild animals, better AI for them (Moosen and wolf living next to each other, underwater-moose and underwater-wolf singing all day long)
#3 Horses <3
#4 Groupsharing
#5 Some of the changes from the Life is Balanced mod (rock in crate, skills)
#6 Adding objects INSIDE of an house, possibility to use these (bed, chair)
#7 Terraforming/Tunneling changes (someone in here posted this already)
#8 Weather, Enviroment decay (trees, animals)
#9 Remove of Ninja-jumper and fix for glitching through some spaces.
#10 Some changes to gaining Flux/Steel, it works but i'm not happy with that.
