Hey guys, I don't want any credit for this fix but I do want to share it with the lif community. Because I for one am a bit depressed about the fps issues I for one was getting. I know a lot of you out there are probably in the same boat as me. I use a laptop and this fix isn't just for laptops but for anybody with issues. Please try this and see if you improve. I hope this is a fix for everyone and not just me. But here it is.

Please follow these steps:

1. locate your game folder in my computer, steam, steam apps, common.

2. access the DATA folder.

3. open the pref.cs or prefs file with notepad. (CS file)

4. Change these commands.

$pref::Shadows::disable = "1";
$pref::Shadows::filterMode = "None";
$pref::Shadows::textureScalar = "0";
$pref::Video::antiAliasing = "0";
$pref::Water::disableTrueReflections = "1";

Change all these commands to the ones you see above.

Its only a quick fix until the devs can sort a patch out but for me I have a huge improvement in my game.

Would this be the same thing as changing you ingame video settings?

I don't think so because mine are all the lowest possible. With these changes, you get more fps whether its only 10 or 70 your still better off trying it and seeing the results pal.

This actualy helps alot.

You disable shadows, which you cannot do from GUI.

Holy Shit.

Was averaging an fps of 20-23 in not-so-densed areas and an fps of aroun 13-14 in texture-filled ones.

Now i'm averaging 30-50 fps all the time!

Scroll to my reply at bottom. I went from everything set to lowest and running at 5-10fps to everything set to high and postfx on running at 50+fps.

tried this, went from 7-10 fps to 12-13 fps when looking at trees, i've got minimal settings, obj detail 10, tree detail 0.1 drawing distances 500-1000-1000. got GTX 650 Ti, AMD 8150 FX, 16 GB 1333 RAM, running windows 8.1 . any ideas?
