Large Warehouse

Post by McLeod_ » 30 Oct 2014, 21:15

Hi guys, is the large warehouse bugged or not implemented properly yet ?

It seems on our server the GM is the only one who can build it, whenever anyone else tries it goes through the animation but nothing happens - no error pop ups, nothing in system messages etc.

Any ideas ?

Have had no issues building them. They have an odd shape to them make sure it is all flat. But have built 4 n no issues.

yeah double checked the shape size etc, tried building it on a fully flattened 9x7 rectangle - everything showing up as green and it goes through the animation - just doesn't place anything down. Other people have tried with no luck too, only the GM's can place them for some reason.

Ironic thing is I can place every other building down -even the ones that don't work yet like the Sawmill and Windmill lol just not the one I actually need.

Maybe you are standing to close to it, when putting it up?

For the larger buildings, you may need to "Build" it 2-3 times (Or more). You'll notice each time you build on it, that the resources get added to it on the build window.

We don't even get that far, it won't let us lay the foundation for the building at all so we don't get to add any mats to the building in the first place.

This is interesting, as we're currently experiencing the same thing on the server I'm on, but with the castle gatehouse instead of the large warehouse (the correct area size has been flattened, the player goes through the actions as if placing foundations, but nothing happens - no foundations appear). Maybe a bug following the latest patch? :%)

Are you sure, that there is no cutten tree or sack etc. on/above the area and nobody stands/walks on the area?
I had the same problem with my warehouse, too and there was a cutten tree which blocked the area.

It could be a server problem.
Have heard about weird problems that people have on some servers.

For example, on one server no one was able to gain skill points in cooking.

I don't know if there is a way for server admins to check for faulty databases though.

Certain foundations don't seem to like being laid next to paved surfaces. I'm working of finding the exact bug atm. I believe its tied to wether the paved texture does that overlap effect it sometimes does. So I may be that???

I'd like to see a screenshot of the building placement mode, where we can see all the tiles. Preferably also one in regular Observe mode.

I gave up in the end and got it placed in GM mode.

There were no tree stumps or bags anywhere near the area, the area ws all flattened - there was however a raised path running adjacent to the flattened area - possibly that.

When I get back form work late I will post screenshots of the area in observe and placement in observe too.

Yep Still working on consistently reproducing this bug but it seems to be raised paved areas. Was the path flattened with an upward or downward slope before paving. This seems to be how I can reproduce the bug. just putting together some screenies before mantis atm. I'm guessing its tied the same bug with walls on a slope atm as I can Place them in GM aswell then have anyone build them.

Right well I spent ages levelling an area of 11x11 (to make sure) at a fresh site to test it and the damn thing worked lol.

Maybe it was something to do with having paved area nearby the flattened area as mentioned earlier, not sure.

Not sure if the other guys had anything adjacent to theirs too - maybe.

But just to be on the safe side when it comes to them I'll make a bigger area than required in the future.

Terraform a 9x9 field, then you can place it, did it these days twice.

important is that you flat 9x9

I've also run into issues placing buildings beside paved roads.

Easily fixed by 'lower ground level' on the paved path, this picks up the stone. Place your building foundation, then re-pave the path. :)
