That's what I said. It's only gathering wild plants that causes the decrease, fibers, edible plants, etc don't affect it.

The 100Q tiles are meant for herbalists to be able to spot the best herbs. which is why gathering plant fibers does not mess up the quality. It's under nature's lore and is there for them to be able to find good quality soil spots for herb hunting without damaging the soil itself. Eventually, as someone states, manure will be the way for farmers to be raising soil q. Currently however this is an ALPHA and the feature is not fully implemented yet.
