By buying the game you get the YO version (reportedly cheaper if bought from the LiF website instead of steam), to run your own server or to play on someone's server. Once the MMO launches, you will receive the funds to transfer a character to the live version of the MMO.
Until then you are expected to help in the testing phases of the game and post any and all bugs (AFTER CHECKING to make sure they are not all ready posted on the Mantis) also read this message for bug reporting.

Be certain to follow the rules for the server you begin playing on, most simply require not to use hacks and exploits to cheat and steal from others in the game.
Make sure to report any bugs and exploits that you discover, only way things will get fixed is if they learn of them.
Other than that have fun and get ready to spend a lot of time building things, hunting, and raiding other villages (if the server your on does that currently). But as I have told many new players in many new games over the years... Go forth and have fun killing shit!
