bump i have same error also. i Submited a crash report several times today thinking if i tried it a few times it would give a different result and that eventually someone would be able to cross reference something somewhere and be able to fix this. Now i have a dual booted computer mac on one side and PC with windows 7 on the other but i have never had this problem before with any of my other games so i am not sure what the problem is.

It looks like your computer have insufficient RAM. LiF in current state is not properly optimized, so it uses a lot of computer resources. How much RAM memory do you have on your machine?

LiF is also a 32-bit application, so is limited to 4gb of mapped memory space, some of which is taken up by the program itself and any modules or libraries it loads.

It's actually limited to less than 4gb because it doesn't have the LAA flag set. The potential ramifications of setting LAA on an application that wasn't compiled with it is basically black magic as far as I'm concerned.

Well, I meant in general, not specifically... 32 bits of address space is 4gb of addressable memory, whether the program is compiled to use it or not... but your point is well taken. Regardless, running it on a system with "16 gb ram" and expecting that to make any more difference than running it on a system with 6gb ram (2-ish for the OS and 4-ish for the game) is pretty silly.

Back to the OP and back on topic: Do you get the same memory error on *ALL* servers you try to connect to, or only specific ones? Try a few other servers to test this. This could be a result of the server having too many modifications to the terrain/buildings/forest/etc, and ending up sending too much information for your client to hold.

I have the same issue, but with 16gb of RAM. It just started earlier this week.

One of my guildies has the same issue. I made a thread about it but it looks like there is no fix yet. We'll just have to wait for an optimization patch.

Ever since this last patch I have been getting allot of out of memory crashes. About 3 to 6 an hour :(. Pre patch I would crash like once or twice in a 12 hour day.

I was able to reduce my crashes by changing certin settings and avoiding certin actions. One note I should make is I have a 64bit os and 16g ram.

I increased my paging file to 50g.
make sure shadows are turned off.
make sure to reduce render distance from 10k to something more manageable.

I've noticed thay crashes happen more when I open containers and construction sites very quickly, so I started right clicking on the object/construction site, mousing over the open/build button for about 5 seconds, and then clicking it. Sounds weird but I swear this has greatly reduced my crashes. Also this may not be as important but I always wait for the object to fully render before clicking on it.

I would also recommend avoiding running great distances if your server has allot of action goin on building and tree wise.

Otherwise I assume the Dev team is aware of this issue from error reports, it seems there is a ticket on Mantis. Patience is advised.

If its a busy server with alllot of changes and buildings it can take up to 20 min to load in.
