Russian localization

Post by Solemboom » 23 Oct 2014, 05:58

Hello everyone. I am the representative of the Russian-speaking population, and I would very much like to see this game with the Russian language. I well know English (and the fact that i do not help google.translate), I can beautifully and correctly express their thoughts on paper, so I'd like to help you with Russian localization. you can give me all the data localization so that I could translate them, then I will give you this information in Russian, so you can install them into the game. for that I absolutely did not ask, and I will do everything for free, for the benefit of your project. waiting for a response below, or by e-mail @ nykobellik@mail.ru

That's fine. They may not have had time to do that.

You should PM Bobik as well :)

The majority of the strings seem to be stored in \Life is Feudal Your Own\data\cm_messages.xml.

yes it is... but there is a lot of thing in other files too :)
*.gui files can be edited too, there are some buttons etc. (most of them are in ...Life is Feudal Your Own\art\gui)

i have done main menu to czech language, but buttons there are images in "Life is Feudal Your Own\art\images\YO"

now i just need to find entity for latin characters like š,č,ř,ž :)

edit: ok i have entities :D so huray, i have work to do :)

Not sure I understand, LiF has no problem displaying diacritics.

yeah , when yoiu write in chat it is ok, but when i edited cm_messages.xml with diacritics, it didn't show good... it show question marks (i tried to change encoding too, but with no effect ).. but with entities it is ok.... I can make print screen if you want :)

I literally just tried it by copy-pasting the list of Czech diacritics into one of the strings and it came out fine.

I did stumble into a bit of a bug though: Traditional Chinese gets really blurry when scaled down.

EDIT:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Thank you for your offering to help. But as I've stated numerous times everywhere. Translation (especially on my native language :D ) is not that big part of localization. The biggest part is code work that we have to do in order for that localization to run smooth and correct.

We will start localization work process as soon as we get less flooded with bugs and issues.

thx for your reply :)

i totally understand what you just wrote, i found a lot of "things to translate" in *.gui or *.cs files, so i thought it will be not so easy to implement it...

anyway... we can start preparing it in our languages (only translate cm_messages will take some time :)), and when/if you start work on localization, we can save you some time :)
