Recommended Armor for Sword & Shield setup

Post by Safety84 » 08 Jan 2015, 15:01

Two questions.

1. What is the recommended armor for a sword and shield character, I have seen people pick and choose different types to make a full suit
2. What is CURRENTLY the strongest armor in the game

Thanks

I don't know if there is a 'strongest' armor, as combat is more than just the armor you wear.

So the easy answer would be scale as it is in the same tree. However, you really have to look at your strength and stamina usage. Plus, there is still a lot of combat balancing that has to occur yet.

So, bottom line, go with what you think would be fun for now. :)

Q2: If I am not wrong, the strongest armor is full plate/ royal plate

Shields are largely broken right now, and can't be run with a good build.

You are highly correct. Most of the other armors are primarily just wastes of resources and are not as effective as plate armor. :bad:

Plate armor also weighs the most by far.

You just don't stand in front of them.

He's right you know. The hitboxes on shields are very finnicky, and the best fighters don't use them for that reason. Mobility seems to be king at the moment. Running with no armor and decent agility lets you kite anyone with armor for days, and if you add a bow to the mix, the guy with heavy plate is going to lose 10/10 times. As is pretty much any other melee combatant with armor.

I tried that tactic but always had a problem with people using the move out ability which pretty much makes it impossible to kite Someone.

Use it yourself and you both go exactly 50% quicker lol.

You are a big time noob getting shield bashed and thinking move out stops you from kiting.
