For the love of God FREEZEING!

Post by Bole » 10 Jan 2015, 02:54

I bought this game and I am in love with it. I have a 1800$ cpu. it is very nice. I freeze every 5-30 mins. I can not move, I see grass moving, people moving around me. I see local and world chat. I am sick of this, its Friday night, I bought my beer, made my steak and I want to kill people. FFS please help me!

I hope you realize that this game is in alpha stage and there is probably alot of optimization to be done and performance is not garanty.

You should take a good sip of that beer and chill out a bit, there is so much to do in this game before killing people...

Cheers!

bro I totally agree, out of the 20 people in my guild I am the only one with this issue, I have tried just about every thing I can think of. I bought my cpu last year, its a 1800 rig, very high end. I have no problems at all in any other game. it is just me.

I know there is a lot to do that's why I want to play and not freeze so I can do the shit, then go kill people.

Check your drivers. I helped someone with a similar issue about 3 months ago, ended up being fixed when he wiped and re-installed his audio drivers.

Use something like Driver Sweeper to wipe them all first, then re-install.

I up dated my graphics drivers, I am unsure on how to update my sound drivers. any ideas? is there a web site I can go to that will auto check that sort of stuff?

Just check the model of your motherboard (assuming your got onboard audio) and check the support site of the manufacturer (ex: Asus) to download the driver. Go in device manager, uninstall audio drivers, reboot and reinstall.

Those freeze tho can come from so many sources (network, server, local machine) it's tough to find out sometimes. I had some also last night, played with graphics setting and made it a bit better.

Hope you fix it! :good:

If you think your drivers are okay, here's some more stuff to try:

If using Win7, hit ctrl+alt+delete > task manager > performance tab > Resource Monitor

When you freeze, try to check to see if you had a large CPU usage or RAM spike at the time. Or, if you're constantly running 90%+, well, that's a problem. Your computer in its current state isn't able to handle it. Close down some background programs and processes that you aren't actively using (use google to search the .exe's). There's a veritable butt ton worth of stuff folks are running on their machines that they have no clue. Use the Task Manager and Resource Monitor, and Start Up Manager, to tone down the number of background applications you have running.

Another thing you should probably perform is a RAM check, ensure your RAM sticks aren't faulty. For that there are several options, think Microsoft still has a decent RAM checker/memory check program, as does "Reimage Repair."

Having a $1800 "nice machine" doesn't mean much if you don't know what you're doing with it.

$1800 but you went with Integrated sound?

You would be surprised how much poorly managed sound drivers can hinder game-play. In some games, even with the sound disabled, it can cause them to lock up completely.

I don't really think that's the cause here, if you still see everything moving around you normally, it suggests your end is processing just fine, but that there is something causing the server and client to disagree on your movement.

Unless you have a hotkey mapped to something you are hitting by accident and it causes you to Take an Action that doesn't allow you to move.
The first time I hit the rest and recovery key (even knowing about it, since I had to add it to the bar) I freaked out thinking the game had gone under completely. I couldn't move, couldn't jump.. nothing.. but everything around me continued normally.

I was already at the confirm to Exit before it registered I might hit it just to be sure..

what did you do to fix it? I don't follow you bro.

yes I dumped 1800 on this bad rig, I love to play games and pvp it was time for a upgrade. so I went to Magicmcro and built it, I am not sure what I put for sound, I don't think I did any thing fancy.

With my issue wasn't a bug or anything to 'fix' .. I just had to hit the Rest and Recovery button again.

I would try spending a little time on a different world server and see if the problem is the same. If you get the same problem on different servers in different locations it at least narrows the issue to your end.

Asking for support in an alpha game is a little bit silly, even if you paid for it, there was a disclaimer document during the installation where you accepted to buy the game in is current state.

Does your freezing blocks you completely from playing or it's just once in a while, I got some freezes too but it's not too bad and I can still progress in the game without too much pain. :pardon:

Just to know, do you have an ATI video card?

my char freezes, and i have to CTL ALT DELETE or quit game to get out. it happens randomly, could be 5 mins when i log in or as long as an hour. i freeze then i have to retart. it happens when im sitting, running around, digging up dirt, chopin down trees, combineing erbs. its just random.

my card is a readon 9600? think its 4 gig. im at work right now. i am sorry guys i am not very techy. i have a very nice computer. i have no problems running any other game just this one. hell i can run mortal online with full grapics and run just fine for hours on end.

asking for support from a guy i bought a DVD off of, off the street is silly. paying 40 bucks for a ONLINE MMORPG ( i dont care if it is LIYO or MMO) it is still online. and some one can take a damn min and help me figure this out.

I wouldn't be suprised if this is related to ATI cards, I've seen differences in many games where ATI card players were having more issue than the others. You could try to reinstall the game, maybe you got damaged files.. anything running in the background... i just don't know what else anyboby can tell you. Have you tried another server to see if it's still doing it.

Still you money is not lost, what you paid will probably get you a discount or even direct access to the game when it's released (I think I saw that somewhere). Just be patient and I'm sure it will get better at some point.

By the way Mortal Online is not a reference for anything, this game's been out for years and what we got here is already more advance than this game...

i was bringing up mortal online because of the grapics details to give people a refrence point. i highly doubt it is my machine. i did a full reinstal. ive re set my router, re started comp. i even spun around in circles 3 times and spit on the ground. there is somthing off and it needs special attion from a dev.

Bole, the Dev's can't do a whole lot to troubleshoot your hardware issues. They give tips about common issues customers have concerning hardware issues, but those tips are compiled from reports from customers.

You have the same program that the rest of us have. My computer plays the game just fine. Yours on the other hand does not. The difference is in the hardware we are using.

You should probably contact the customer support of your Video Card. If that's ATI, then they are the ones you should be asking help from, and are the actual folks that might be able to come up with a solution for you.

If that fails, make a friend out of an IT guy who is also a gamer (most I know are, but not all). Offer him $100 and a pizza if he can come over and check out why you're having issues with the game. I don't personally have a lot of faith in "Geek Squad/Commercial Computer Techs" as a lot of them I've run into are more sales people (and often get commissions) than they are actual Techs.

Was anyone able to fix this? it just started happening to me. I'm losing my mind. sometimes I'm good for an hour other times I can't even play for a couple mins. This started just 2 days ago and before that everything was fine. Please anyone!!
