I have googled around, and found nothing on the subject... Can a person owning and hosting their own LiF: YO server create a mall on a website that offers in game items for a real currency price?

On the same page, Can a person owning and hosting their own LiF server, give an in game appreciation reward to players that donate to support the server? And if so, are they allowed to specify an appreciation reward type on their server website for donating?

And last but not least, Are we allowed to use Life is Feudal Logos, videos and images on our websites if we write a disclaimer?


Would love to know, as I am not trying to get sued...

1. Unlikely any Game Developer would support this

2. If you want your supporters to receive items for their contributions id suggest something like cafepress or similar setup where you can sell items representing your server or community. It serves to both fund your hosting cost and is independent of the game so there should be no moral issues or TOS violations involved.

3. if you look under media you will find a download called press kit, I think its a safe bet they have approved its use.

Sorry, not really understanding #2. As for #1, You never know, I would think they would make a point to make it known, KNOWING it was/is a possibility I'm sure people are exploiting. But as I said, through my searches, I found nothing saying I couldn't. And #3 I started downloading that pack on accident, and stopped it b/c I didn't know what it was lol.

I meant you can make your own items with your Server or community logo and sell to the public to help fund your server. There are a few sites that let you do this.

its real simply, step one register with chosen site and setup a shop, then make your logo or image with any 2d image editor, upload image to website, apply image to products, all products have base price so you add 1 or 2 dollars over base price to make money to support server.

This way when someone buys a mug or T-shirt their supporting your server and community and getting something in return.

Awesome, is there a way to create an actual in game item and add it into the game?

This is the reply I received via personal message. It is still unclear if it is allowed or possible to create and add an original item (ex: an item created that isn't already in the game) into the game to offer as gratitude for a donation.

Hello Bellthazarr.

We are ok with server donations to keep your servers running. Though our EULA strongly prohibit any way of profiting from such activities and purchase of in game items/services for real cash.

Providing of an in game item in exchange or as "gratitude" for a donation is still considered as a purchase.
