pit decay?

Post by Safety84 » 01 Feb 2015, 06:20

correct me if I'm wrong.. I thought pit decay worked after patch. I have seen on several servers that pits DO NOT DECAY. is there some sort of requirement or do we need to wipe the servers and start fresh inorder for the decay to function correctly?

You are "wrong" .... ;)
The pit decay worked pretty well on the he server I've been playing on after the patch. Sometimes it just looks a bit ... how to say ... beautiless. :)

I'd like to see a screenshot of this, because I've been on two servers now and both servers are still having issues with pits not returning to natural land. Even my own server has pits that are still... pits

I've included a screenshot of a pit that has been here since before the patch.

This cell where the cursor is pointing to... that was 2 days ago a hole which I created via "dig tunnel"

Maybe they don't consider my pit a pit. Pretty annoying

The same for me. Tried a few more pits... some decay, some not. Couldn't figure out so far how the pit has to be to decay. Several times I thought I'd figured it out but nope, no "rule" so far. :Search:

The reason they don't decay might be that they are either too deep, or they are near tunnel entrance.

Anyway, please report this on mantis bugtracker, but first make sure that at least 2 INGAME days have passed.

Honestly, that bug tracker is a mess  and I prefer reporting stuff here on the forums. Why not integrate the bug tracker to the forums so everything can be found at the same place and be easier to use... :(

I may occasionally post something on the forums for others to verify, but otherwise it goes on Mantis. It helps to first search for the issue already being filed, but even that doesn't always reduce clutter. I've had a bug closed as a duplicate because the original was in a different language. :D

I have two "pits" :D they have been stone pillars/bumbs in my beautiful flattened construction site. But they won't decay. Every other part of stone which i have "flattened" is decayed but those two are a real pain in the ... . So Since i play on my own server and i actually have no knowledge of maintaining a server or programming I'm quit puzzled. My oaks are fully grown from sapling to major, so i think i have waited two ingame days at least. On one of the stone pits i already had to dug away a little dirt bumb and this one decayed after something like one ingame day. This really annoyed me when i realized it. :x  :bad:

So has someone an advice.

I will try to make an bug report but not before next week i will have no time on the weekend. :pardon:

do you guys even look at mantis. this game is becoming horrible. used to love it more than anything.

also no pit decay here either..

try starting with disabling the ability to see through walls, and float stuff. how bout fall damage .? why does gravity not exist in this game. oh right "early access". becoming laughable. used to be 3k+ online. now 800. do the math. sorry guys but you are failing.
