Devlog Question Thread:

Post by Stormsblade » 08 May 2015, 02:29

There are devlogs.
Devs answer questions for the devlogs, taken from the community.
I don't see one on the forum currently...

So ask your devlog questions here!

Well yeah, but why am I PVPing? Just because there is nothing else to do and I want to kill other clans? Or will there be some sort of incentive? :)

This is a sandbox game.. you make your own goals. PvP and sieges and vassalage mechanics will be a way for kingdoms to rise and fall overtime, economies to be reseted, and for rich players to lose everything ! :D

No doubt, but players goals tend to be guided by gameplay mechanics.

For example, if sieging another clans town costs a tremendous amount of resources, but provides no possible reward than the joy of victory, you will see this as a very rare and potentially unviable endgame activity.

Whereas if you can freely plunder your enemies stores after victory, and you are actually in need of these resources because the economy has sufficient item sinks, you will see sieges as a common and profitable lategame goal.

How they decide to structure economic incentives for lategame activities, and the economy, will truly shape what people do in the lategame. I tried to ask the what vision they had in a single sentence.

I hope conveyed the real depth of the question :)

1. Bobik talked about adding NPC natives spawning in caves in an interview but I dont see anything about this in the timeline. Is this still something planned?

Realism:
2. I would like to see more information at a developer level on the planned API and mod community.

3. Any plans on weather biomes to reflect seasons?

4. I see 2d graphic assets for rain is this going to be added? Lightning storms perhaps?

Please, point me out another game studio that answers questions better posed by the community with more consistency.

Please show me another indie dev studio that releases major content patches once per month.

Please show me another dev studio that does both of the above, AND has a public bug tracker where players can directly submit bug reports that are ALL processed?

I have been playing and following indie MMOs and games since the late 90's, and and I have never before encountered a studio as open, transparent, and consistent as this one.
