Hopes about DX11 day/night, trees... pvp cheating

Post by Khan- » 02 Jul 2015, 12:46

Hi guys, this post a mostly for devs and my hopes about the DX11 new graphics...

As new graphics are a total surprise for everyone here, a good surprise of course and, I already asked about this earlier without any answer... then... now we know "more" about LiF future, then, I'm asking again about this DX11 NEED.

I met mates that had strange behavior about pvp "fairplay"...

- it's possible to turn the night in day... you just have to change the time in your windows clock.. (depend on the server settings about day/night cycle).. then in pvp, it's totally unfair when you know this trick... (it can turn off fog obviously)

- putting trees vision at the minimum, permitting to see very far in a forest and of course seeing guys fleeing very very easily

- first person shooting/hiting through walls/doors

then, my worries are simples, will dx11 turn off theses features ? and prevent us to see through a wall/door in first person ? Please devs, leave your muteness and reassure your customers, the game community, PLEASE

(this post could be updated further, I believe I'm missing some points...)

I completely agree that finding ways to prevent cheap tricks using game mechanics that allow unrealistic combat advantages should be prevented when ever possible. The ability to create floating logs or crates comes to mind.

That said, there are some things that will be possible simply because this is a game and the amount of effort to write code to stop it out-weighs the benefit.

As an example, I have never heard of using the internal clock. Frankly, that's too much work. When the nights get too dark I simply adjust the gamma on my video card with a single click of the mouse button.
