is there a way to find out who is the GM on a server?

well I thought about this for a while and finally thought "sounds like a general discussion, lets put it here", hope Im not wrong. :)

theres this server I started playing on and thus have become somewhat attached to, but the GM is inactive. is there a way of finding out who they are and contacting them? probably not, since that would need their steam name to be known in the game ......... yeah, you get the idea.

further - is it possible for a GM to give GM rights to another player? if not, then the entire question is pointless anyway. :)

just generally and Im not putting much hopes into this, but if youll never ask, youll never know... :)

I don't think there is any way to get the name of the GM at all time.

But you can in fact get the steam account of ANY player when they are logged in. Simply click on their name in the player list.. When a GM is on, you will see a "GM" thingy next to their name.

As for giving GM rights.. of course they can ! They just have to give you GM password. But if they are paying for the server, I doubt they will give it to any strangers (no offense).

hmmm yeah, but finding out wether that person belongs to a certain server will be quite another matter... meh, Ill drop it and let that server die then. :-)

oh no offense taken. ;-) I would have taken a role in running the Knights of the flat table server, but if its founder wouldnt want to .... cant really force them now, can I? :-)

cheers!
