Might be a minor point but are there any plans on implementing a kicking mechanic or shield bash for that matter?
I think sword play is a big thing but it sometimes tends to get stale (speaking from experience in M&B and Chivalry). Now both games have kicking implemented.
I sometimes try to get very near my opponent and randomly kick him while blocking his attacks. In Warband it will stun him for a short period of time. Enough to hit him once or for a comrade to kill him off.

What do you think? Sorry if it has been answered before

There will be shield bashing, but I don't know about kicking.

The combat-kicking in M&B is equal in ridiculousness up to the point of spinstabbing.

Why? It's totally ineffective if you're not very near to your opponent and puts you in danger if you miss. I find it absolutely valid.

There's unarmed combat. Perhaps kicking is part of it!
