Non-English sub forum

Post by Proximo » 19 Feb 2014, 20:25

Since speaking english is being forced on so many people who's first language is not in fact english. I would suggest having sub forums added to this forum to better accommodate people.

What real purpose would a sub forums of different languages have?

Maybe Divide the player base and the idea's for the game before release?

I just think it would lead to more confusion over what is suggested and whether players agree with it or not.

I think that if someone wants to be involved and suggest things they can post in English, go through a translator or ask a friend to translate rather than having Idea's posted in many languages that a lot of people cannot read at all.

So I am going -1 this.

It would be an addition to the forum. The english section would still be here so there would be no 'confusion' as you say. Having more sub forums doesn't lock anyone out of posting where they want so I don't see how it could possibly 'divide the playerbase'.

As I have already said, the purpose of this would be to make non-english speakers feel comfortable and have a board to talk and get to know one another just as we have.

Not everyone speaks english and this game is rooted in eastern europe. This would be a step towards a stronger and more diverse community.

They are allowing that within the Guild forums now.

Does there have to be sub forums of different languages in every section to let people "get to know each other"?

I see they might also make a general forums section as well for players to get to know each other from different languages.

Suggestions to change game mechanics or features should be in the same language so all players can read and give some input.

English should be used because most people can read it and write it to some degree more than any other language.

Odd to try and limit people from communicating freely and effectively. If you are gonna force everyone to speak one language you have already divided the community.

There is absolutely no harm in having a sub-board with free language and let the rest of the forums remain english-only. It's the least one can do.

As it is now, I think people are referring most russo-speakers to a third-party community forum. Thats dividing.

We are thinking about finding a balance in this, since the truth is making separate language subforums would divide the community, and that is not a good thing.

Thought I read some topic somewhere where you advocated this. Well, well. Seems pretty easy to me. The language barrier, thus the divide, is already there.

Glad to hear something is worked upon.

How would it not?
Learn English, use Google Translate, or keep your own Guild's forum in whatever language you speak best.
Let's all be glad this forum is not in Russian!

There will be multilanguage section soon, each subforum there will have its own moderator.
