Alliance "make peace" with Natives!

Post by Aheeia » 05 Mar 2014, 18:07

Suggestion based on PvE forecast:
http://lifeisfeudal.com/mmorpgsandLiF/L ... P-over-PvE

Please consider some option to ally "make peace" with the Natives!

In most games natives are usually on the bad receiving side. being ab"used" to PvE or simply have a minor role of some sort. i suggest a simple way to respect natives and be able to have peace and not just use them as PvE skilling dummy slaughter fodder!

Not only for the sake of Lif being different, but also for the sake of humanity and recent history i ask you to consider this feature.

Basic feature: Become an ally to natives "make peace"
- Have a option to ally with natives. This could be done with a dialog from a monument (f.e. a sacred tree) at the border of the native area. It would simply change your state as enemy to a friendly to natives. they would not attack you as an ally. to balance it out the downside would be that you could not use their ressources may it be a gold veign or the like. but you could attack a enemy of the natives while not being attacked by the natives at the same time.

i have a personal interest since my wife is mexican with a mayan bloodline and therefore my sons have some mayan blood as well... :good:

many thanks to consider this even on a very small scale.

Maybe not a generic way to ally with them, but maybe a diplomacy/Faction system.

Maybe have curious Native types who don't immediately attack.

They could run away when they spot you, or try to communicate. Maybe even have gathering groups as well as hunting parties. If you come across a gathering group and have a positive interaction with them then you could form some sort of relationship off of that.

Maybe take it further. A Shock and Awe system of sorts where primitives Natives could even be convinced that Your nation are godlike figures.

I think making it more fluid than a generic CeaseFire/Alliance/War system would be unprecedented in an MMO, and could be a huge draw to those looking for a diplomacy mini game.

Agreed.

Native Help is a big no no in my books.

Some players just didn't have a chance to play an MMORPG with absolutely no natives. Like H&H or Salem.

Ah I assumed there were going to be natives in game because of this post. If there are no natives disregard my suggestion. If there are to be natives then regard it heavily...

There will be so-called natives but they will be like dwarves, spawn in mines randomly to make life for miners a litle bit harder. They should behave like goblins and can't be called NPC imho

There will be no NPC helpers / workers, it would break the game immersion. All 'physical' work will be done by players only.

In this case, just consider the Basic feature:

Peace with natives only on player level. they dont attack you, you cannot attack them. no gift, no buff is necessary. very passive. no alliance with realm or kingdom and no help/trade function. i adjust the suggestion to a basic peace without bonuses or the like...

I would simply like to defend them, without being attacked by them.

ofc you can lay it out as a advantage over other players at war with the natives. but it can also create some interessting scenarios to fight over the native ressources. kinda like in avatar.
maybe its possible to put in a restriction for allies to natives not to use the ressources they are on/in/around to balance it out.

it guess its risky to attack the natives and if they have a ally it might be a little more. but then you would have to team up and go in with force. just like with the basic scenarios that will happen in fights over land...

I thought this natives idea was a little more than animal mobs just so you can fight a bit when you're belowground. I certainly don't want them to play a role in politics in any way.

"Life is Feudal’s most defining feature is its medieval persistent open world, also referred to as a sandbox MMORPG. Life is Feudal virtual online worlds prioritise PvP, but this doesn’t mean there is no PvE at all. PvE generally features as fighting natives, inhabitants of the continent your people have colonized. The natives are based off native american indians, mostly the Mayans and Aztecs. The natives dwell in subterranean burrows and tunnel systems, and are armed with primitive equipment. They are, however, able to loot players who have perished close to them."

making peace with natives on player level could form some interessting local conflicts in the fight over their ressources if they are in a certain area. on player level i guess it could be implemented without too much hassle...

i guess it will make things more difficult to expand the peace option to realm and kingdoms to integrate them into politics. but i do like the idea! :good:

I wonder where you read anything about making peace with them. It's no more than mobs that attack you if I read the text correctly.

make peace is a suggestion, hence the post in "suggestions and ideas" ;)

yup they attack you and the idea is to be able to make peace/ally so they dont attack you anymore and you can walk or crawl among them f.e. to protect them from attacks of resscource and skillpoints seekers who want to abuse their sacred lands... ;)
