question about servers and persistency

Post by LifeisFeudal » 27 Sep 2014, 07:06

how does persistency work on servers?

what I mean is for example if we build a village, will it remain there until the server restarts?

or when does a server "reset", deleting everything?

It will remain until such a time as you delete the database and re-make it. The Dedicated server sql database runs as a service in windows and is there even when you are NOT running the server exe.

Sometimes when the server exe is cancelled and restarted you might lose the "last few minutes of activity", per other posters, but I have never had that happen myself.
