Plan on relaunching a PVP server and did some testing to see if it was viable. I think it is. For other people wondering how siege, claims and judgement hour work together - here's a quick explanation.
Decay:
- Decay setting of 10 would mean a decrease of 5,000 durability points per in-game day. (3 hours)
- Decay setting of 0.1 means a decrease of 50 durability points per in-game day. Example: Wall of 5,000 durability disappears in 100 in-game days = 300 hours of real life time (12.5 real life days)
- Erecting a monument solidifies your claim. The monument durability must be maintained by sacrifice or placing items of worth inside as guild leader.
- Objects in this claim are protected from everything during normal hours. Other people cannot stack crates to gain entry. Your buildings are immune from siege damage and decay
Judgment Hour & Sieging
- During judgement hour, all claims are void - EXCEPT & IMPORTANTLY - Gates Claims.
- During judgement hours, people may lay siege to your base - either by stacking logs to get over your walls or by using trebuchets to destroy your walls / gate
If you're a server admin - you'll want to set judgment hours on your server that correspond with the peak hours of your server - when most people are online. This encourages REAL PVP for FULL LOOT as opposed to the night thefts and PVP battles where 1 person online is easily outmatched by other factions.
