Hello,
The first first ting you need too look for is what type of RAM you have now days its probably DDR3 or DDR4. Then check how many RAM-Slots you have so you know if you can buy 2 DDR cards or 4 and if there are slots available. i would recommend if possible to use a set of 4 DDR cards. Because if you have the a total amount of lets say 8GB it will run smoother on 4 card then on 2 cards because of by load spread over the cards. Also the current speed of your RAM and new one need to be @ least the same or higher.

P.S one thing you need to try too avoid is using the C drive Memory part That will slow down your PC and your RAM big time
