Im trying to make a server so my friend and i can play. I always use the Create a server option, and i keep getting the saved world, but how do i make this available to my friend?

What you can do is plug your cable modem directly into your computer and see if that works. If this works then you know that your router is most likely blocking the required (28000 - 28002) ports from reaching your computer.

OR

Log into your router and set forwarding ports of 28000 - 28002 (tcp/udp) to your computers IP address.
