As the topic asks, What do you look for in a server?

We've recently started a server and have a few ideas but are trying to make something genuinely appealing to more players. What is it you guys are after?

I like seeing servers that have a website listed where you can check the status of the server or get news or teamspeak info.

Server settings:

I tired my first x1 SkillRate server last weekend and will most likely not do it again.
So unless you want hardcore, x10 seem to be the norm for now, but maybe x5 wouldn't be that bad?

Getting reports on the forum the farm crops and trees grow really slow.
Just read one post saying they only grow when someone is nearby, and that could maybe explain it but I am not sure it is true.
So faster growing plants would be a huge plus from me.

I don't mind the default SkillCap as it encourage teamwork.

Other than that I mostly go where my friends go.
