Greetings, feudalists!

Hear the Town Crier!
You won't miss Tournament anymore!

With BasilMod::GMAnnounce you can make server-wide announcements with visual style and sound effect!

This mod is part of BasilMods bundle.
This mod requires BasilMod::Pack v3+ installed running on the server.

This mod is intended to be used in RP situations, announce Tournaments, Market days, or server restarts.

I'm receiving the following in the logs after enabling this mod (and the pack mod is working fine)

You have placed client files directly into "basilimod/gmannounce/" directory, instead of "basilmod/gmannounce/client/". Verify that you correctly downloaded mod from dropbox.

Ah yes, that was it! Second question, it appears sounds are syncing between client and server but the logos do not.

If you update/change your images or sounds, you need to restart server or re-execute the mod and reconnect client, so it will download new art files.

Basil, i don't see config.cs in folder. I try it on local and bluefang server and on both config.cs was not created, and default F4 block claims SHOW for players.

As you can see from the description, config.cs will be created on client, not server.

привет. Отличный мод. Очень понравился. Но есть одна проблема. По умолчанию стоит F4
В игре, данная кнопка отвечает за обрисовку локации клайма. Ей очень часто пользуются игроки. Сам процесс смены с F4 окошка анонса достаточно сложен для простых игроков. Да и пока объяснишь им, что происходит, пройдет много времени. Можно по умолчанию убрать с кнопки F4 например на ALT+F5 например?

Next release will change default bind to F5. Probably, your users will have to remove config.cs of the mod manually.

Is there a way to just do a MOTD thats only Server side mod? I would love to add a lot of these things without people having to add stuff to their clients.

Default bind already has been changed to F5. If you have installed this mod before Feburary 1, your playerse need to remove client mod config.cs, or you may force sync it with basilmod::pack.

Thanks for this great mod.
Would it be possible to be able to add a simple text file on the server to broadcast a message without having to log into the game client ?
for example:
create a file announce.txt in server directory with
Code: Select all
logo.png, church-bell.ogg, "Fellow players, please note server is going to proceed the auto restart in 5 minutes."

Mod would look if this file is created every x seconds. If exist, broadcast the message then delete the file.

Would be very handy for server management.

I can't seem to run this mod at my DS. Motd and the pack loads perfectly, but the GMAnnounce doesn't. the "key binding" option doesn't appear either. Any solutions?

* This is my first installtion today. So, I guess all the mods are up to date

BasilMod::Pack required to be installed on server and on client. Also dont forget to place "client" folder to the server, all files from the link are required.

Also, does this work on server-side game console? I would like to use this mod without exposing myself as a GM. The DS where I bought is Blue Fang Studios, and they provide the server-side game console. (I love the GUI too!)

Announcements require client-side pack to be able to view them.
At main page with list of all mods you, Custodian, wrote, that server-side only, for basic functions, but it's not...
Also there is a bug. If you will write in announce in Russian (or other unicode language, I guess), and then backspace two times, game will crash.

В главной теме вроде как написано, что клиентская часть не нужна, что достаточно только серверной для базовых функций, но увы, клиентская тоже нужна. Можно поправить, что бы не вводить в заблуждение?
Баг, при вводе текста в анонс, допустим, сделал ошибку, хочешь удалить символ (русская буква). Нажимаешь один раз - ничего не происходит, нажимаешь второй - краш игры. Полагаю, что это в случае, если удаленный символ был самым первым. Если нет, то появляются квадратики, которые никак не удалить.

There is nothing I can do about it at this time. There is a bug in LiF:Yo client.
As a workaround, you can type your text in external editor and then copypaste to gm announce window.

Ravens and GM announce do not show up on my control options like that. And neither seems to work. I hit F5 nothing. I hit J nothing.
