Game World is way too small. Not joking!

Post by Aresgamingfraternity » 04 Dec 2017, 02:14

I have a pretty sizeable gaming organization and I just started convincing a few of our members to get Life is Feudal MMO but I've soon realized that 75% of our exploratory group:

can't play the game at all after purchasing it, for a wide variety of reasons
have to reinstall the game after one or two sessions of playing it

So how many people are locked out of the game world right now because they're stuck on Life is Feudal's broken launcher, or they can't even sign in?

There's 2234 players on the North American Buyan server right now. That means there's probably 5,000 - 8,000 or more players who can't even get into the game for one reason or another.

...which means the game world is too small to begin with.

There are too few trees to even sustain a population of a few thousand, let alone 10,000. You need trees for a lot of things, including trading building logs at a trading post to get copper coins to feed to your greedy god.

So at this stage, you need to fork over your money to the game devs for a game that is literally unplayable for a lot of people, and then you need to deforest the game world so you can fork over money to your god.

Money, money, money.

More than half of us can't even play the game we paid for. What a joke.

So what do think the reviews are going to be like on Steam? Especially reviews from guys like me who encouraged my friends to purchase a copy, only to realize the game is [often] unplayable and needs to be repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled.

Now I look like the asshole because I've recommended a pile of uplayable trash that requires grinding your ass off.

...a world where three grown men can't even kill a wolf. "We're not a fantasy game." Then what the $!#@ was that?

"Good news: we've got a new patch out."

$@#! the goddamn installer won't download the new patch so it's time to uninstall and reinstall for the third time.

Where's my premium boneses for your broken game?

"Don't worry about that, just give us your money...and if you happen to get the game working, be sure to give your god money too."

"The trees are strong my lord, their roots grow deep."

"Cut them down, cut them all down...and give us your money!"

Obviously you didn't read one word of my post.

The post is about how the majority of people who purchase the game can't even play it.

Stuck on downloading.
Stuck at signin.
Stuck on patching.

...so if the game that people PAID FOR actually worked, the world would be jam-packed. If the game actually worked you'd be getting a "server is full" message.

Don't post a reply unless you actually read and comprehend what someone wrote.

I am a little new as well and am starting to see alot of unsolved bugs.

Yes its alpha but that will only excuse a small amount. Being an Alpha game is no longer the shield it once was, players that PAY money for a game expect to at least beable to logon.

We should NOT be seeing any new content at all until the major bugs are fixed.
I also don't get why the devs don't hotfix game breaking bugs like slinger and login issues.

Ill hold off on putting any money into this game till i see the devs hotfixing big stuff like this, not doing that is kind of a bad sign.

I could put alot of money into this game but not until i can see it has a future.

Also if you understand the Technological requirements for the world size, this map is frigging enormous! An Applaudable feat on that front.

It's completely unethical business practices. There's no two ways about this. They're selling a game that tons of people can't even play, or are able to play once and then can't play the next time.

They've excitedly announced a role-playing server, and yet the game is completely broken. I have never paid for a game this broken.

This is to say nothing of the absurdity of some of the things in this non-fantasy "realistic" world.

You can't even plant seeds unless you grind for hours and days on end.

Google Image Search: children planting seeds

That's right, a child can plant seeds, but your character is too incompetent to do that.

Moreover, the game world is getting rapidly deforested because characters have to grind and grind to be able to get the skill to collect tree sprouts and be able to plant seeds...and then it supposedly takes 21 real-life days for a single tree to grow to full maturity.

The devs are bad at math and bad at business. The demand for trees is enormous but there aren't enough of them.

Depending on the tree, some trees will take a max of a week real life to grow to maturity, others will take two weeks, while some of the bigger trees will take 3 weeks.

It isnt that bad.

Just have to plan some things out a little better.

I know right, resource management, OMG it is like real life!!!!

We are working on those fixes and they will be included in the 'bigger' patches. We can't just take all worlds down for an extensive period of time just to patch one bug. It isn't smart, trust me. Now, the login issues are more severe and cannot be simply hotfixed. We are continously investigating connectivity issues and working towards fixing them. But, we obviously cannot rush with uploading those patches and just hope for the best, or we'll break more stuff than we fix. Nobody wants that.

Exactly, the resource management is severely off in this game.

I saw a new player cutting down trees trying to get building logs so he could sell them for copper coins. He didn't realize that a tree has to have been mature enough to offer the ability to saw out a building log. So he was just cutting and cutting and cutting.

How many tree sprouts, bark, branches or other materials were wasted by that one player? How many more are making the same mistake?

What is to stop a player from clear-cutting a whole forest? Nothing.

Also, when a tree is felled, you should still be able to gather tree sprouts, branches and bark from the object. At least in this way, another player who understands the value of tree sprouts can gather them up and plant more trees.

The demand for trees seriously outweighs the supply.

It is that way now... but I can tell you now. The kingdom I am in, our tree demand has dropped drastically over the past few weeks as we have finished most of our "major" projects. Now we have a steady supply and demand of things. We even have a daily supply list of things that have to be done EACH day, so we can keep going at our current rate.

Nothing more fun that seeing a working economy starting to bud out.
