So since it's F2P now, is there a fresh server for new players to start so they can have somewhat competitive gameplay or the announcement is just a bait for the casual players?

Hey. There is no new server, but the giant game world still offers lots of unclaimed lands where you and your friends can create your guild's settlement. You can also just stay in the green zone if you want to avoid PvP and live in peace.
