Hello everyone, I have a suggestion that came into my head which could resolve the spinning speed buff issue. This would also help the game to enhance the visiual appearance when encountering other players.
Right now, the turn rate is either unlimited or very high. This allows the player to get a quick peek left and right while moving aswell as it doesn't restrict the player in his controls.
BUT this also enables some issues with the so called spinning speed buff in combat, you turn quickly before hitting to have a how "speed buff" which results in bonus damage. Therefore PVP, if done by those who know this and WANT to use this, end up in beeing a combat of spinning:
Beside of that, in certain moments this can also be a break on the visual appearance of the game, when suddenly someone is turning very fast .
I assume that in the following game versions, the developers will balance armor and weapons so that they are fair and have their benefits. So naked guy or light armor don't survive as many hits as heavy armor.
So now how to tackle these issues:
I present two different methods to limit the turn rate which would then eliminate both issues. These two methods could be either be used together or just one of them:
#1 - The game limits the turn rate based on the armor the character is wearing. A heavily armored warrior is probably not able to do so much spinning, but is able to survive a bit longer due to his armor (duh). So wearing a full plate armor will give you the lowest turn-rate. This armor would ofcourse be an issue if combating someone without armor, but this would then end quickly IF the armored guy hits the naked one. This would need a lot of balancing to find the right ammount of limiting and (maybe) how much skills affect the limit.
#2 - The turn-rate gets limited overall as soon as the player changes into combat mode (R key by default). This would eliminate the problem of spinning completly. Combat would stop beeing like in the picture above but still allowing for players in non-combat situations to behave and control their character like they do now.
As said before, both Methods can be used together or just sololy. My aim for this is to tackle mainly the spinning issue and give the developers another idea out of community.
I would also like you people, to comment on this if you like it or not, so if it IS something you want, the devs will get their attention to it.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that armor and weapon values are assumed as fixed for this suggestion.
