Trying to place a guild monument and I get the message: "God does not allow you to claim these lands!" I spent the time terraforming this area and there is nobody else nearby. I had a private claim nearby but I've since removed it. I am the leader of a guild with 10 people in it.

Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

I thought I was far enough away from the border but it seems that is the issue. R.I.P all that terraforming. I was able to build one about 15 tiles outside of the big area I just flattened.

Edit 2(for anyone who cares): Earlier I traveled dozens of tiles to check different spots to see if that would work not knowing tile border was issue. after narrowing down on the exact location I can place monument a whopping 2 tiles away from where I earlier intended moving AWAY from the border. All is not lost.

I am having this same issue. I deleted my personal claim and 30 min later still cant put down the guild monument. There is no claim nearby or server border. Why am I still getting that message?

You have to wait till the next game day before your claim is gone. Sometimes you may have to wait till server reset.
