Hello forum folks, I just bought the game and when I tried to download the NA servers I get an installation error, picture of the error included. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it, Thanks!

Try to redownload and reinstall everything from scratch and/or make sure that no antivirus/firewall is blocking your connection here. Also, tell me what's your launcher version.

Currently on launcher version 1.6.1, I tried re downloading and allowing it through the fire wall. Still getting the same error

I have, and I tried turning off p2p downloading as well

Try clearing/deleting the \tmp folder.

Deleting the tmp file lead to the same error unfortunately.

Another suggestion: create new Windows user account and repeat all steps. Run the application as administrator etc.

The issue seems to be with that one torrent file in the tmp folder is there nothing I can do to that specific file or folder to make it readable/executable?

I've been trying to get the game to launch but it simply won't fully open. It will show the process in task manager but it's memory usage/cpu usage will be very low and the program never actually opens. I've gotten the installer to install everything and all the newest versions of C++. I double click the launcher.exe, but the launcher will not allow anything beyond that. I'm using a fresh install of windows 10 so there shouldn't be any software conflicts. I've tried disabling all non essential services and still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

just grabbed this game and am experiencing almost the exact same issue, this is the error I am experiencing when trying to install the game from the launcher: "Game installation failed with error can't read torrent file /temp/forests-1176-1511057480.torrent"

keeping an eye on this thread if a solution ever comes up

Wipe the content of tmp or temp folder and try downloading again.

Yes, I did, I even tried a fresh "install" of the game, nothing works

Figured out what the problem was. my ISP (or my local town or whatever) Didn't like that the launcher was using torrent files to download the game, and decided to stop it. worked with another internet.
