Hey, I keep getting murdered without explanation. I can't build anywhere because I can't even talk to the people in the areas before they murder me. I try yielding and they still murder. Does the karma system even work on here? I managed to talk to one group and they called me a spy and murdered me. How the hell do you play this game?

At this moment it is very hard to find a habitable place that isn't claimed by a guild. You can try and talk to the land owners and find people that are not bloodthirsty to settle on their land. yet most likely you will still have to pay tithes to the owning faction.

You could also join a guild and circumvent all that. If you are NA send me a PM and I'll give you some info about mine.

70-80% of the players you meet will not speak english (most are russian) and it can be hard to find people, esp well established guilds that are friendly.

If you are looking to settle or join a guild you can settle near our little guild, we are friendly and provided you do favors in return we will even help you out a little, if you got your own little private claim nearby and need like.. Trees but are a smith yourself, you could trade iron for trees/wood or similar fashion .

One bit of advice.
Dont just start building near another camp/guild land. Usually all the trees you see have been planted by them and they wont like you simply putting up camp there. If they attack you you run and go elsewhere, if they talk you can ask if they speak english *or otherwhise* and then ask them if you can set up a private claim nearby, and how far away you need to be
